Pine View School, Osprey

TARC is a proud sponsor of the amateur radio club at the Pine View School for the Gifted in Osprey, Florida. The club’s relationship with the school was solidified in late 2024 when we were asked by the school to facilitate an amateur radio contact with the International Space Station (ISS) after the school had been accepted by the Amateur Radio on the International Space Station organization (ARISS.org). The contact occurred on January 27, 2025 with 16 students asking questions of astronaut Sunni Williams during an 11 minute pass over the school. We trained and licensed 17 students, parents, and faculty in January 2025 to get their ham radio club started!
