Florida State Parks on the Air CONTEST
All club members are urged to compete as individuals in this annual, statewide Parks on the Air (POTA) Contest. Not only Florida; but, Georgia, Alabama, and Texas will be conducting their respective statewide contests during the weekend of April 18-20, 2026. The contest(s) are normally held the first weekend in April each year but in 2026 this was an Easter Sunday weekend.
Contest details and rules can be found at the fspota.org website. TARC took over the sponsorship of this event in 2025 and this will be our first year of managing it. One of the competing “Classes” for the event is “Club Station” and TARC is sponsoring a W4AC Club Station entry to the contest. We will be using the club call sign, W4AC and operating as a club station. BRING you POTA gear and coordinate with Jim or Paul as to band, mode, and operating time(s) in advance, please!

Each operator will keep a separate log of their activation as W4AC. Send you log to Jim or Paul as soon as possible after the event so that we may consolidate all logs for submission to the contest event.
Club Station sign up sheets will be available at club meetings and breakfasts in March and April. You can also sign up to participate via Ham Club Online (HCOL). Just log in, go to the “Club Calenda” page and select the event you want to participate in. Use the blue “Sign-Up” button at the bottom of the event page.
