Tamiami Amateur Radio Club (TARC), W4AC Repeaters
TARC owns and maintains 3 repeaters for use by any licensed amateur radio operator. The call sign for these repeaters is W4AC. Two of the repeaters are located on a 200 foot tall tower at 565 Paul Morris Drive, Englewood, FL 34223. One repeater is located at the WKDW community radio station, 12737 Tamiami Trl., North Port on a 80 foot mast.
- The TARC Club Tuesday Digital Net is held at 7:30 pm on DMR TG 310442, on timeslot 1. This DMR repeater operates on 444.100 MHz (+), color code 1
- The TARC Club Thursday Analog Net is held at 7:30 pm on 146.805 MHz (-) PL 100
This repeater supports: Echo Link Node: 513309 (W4AC-R) - The newest TARC Club repeater has a legacy net from the former North Port Amateur Radio Club, The “Diehards”, meet Monday’s at 8 pm on 147.120 (+) PL 136.5.
For non-net communications, the club uses the UHF DMR repeater set to the Local 9 (TalkGroup 9) on timeslot 1.

North Port Amateur Radio Club
The club dis-banded in August 2023. As of September their old repeater now identifies as W4AC on 147.120 (+) PL 136.5 Hz.
State Amateur Radio Net (SARNET)
This is a network of linked UHF voice repeaters that serves most of the State of Florida. The repeaters are operated by their local trustees and the network that connects them together does not interfere with the local use of the repeaters. Hit one repeater and you are talking on ALL of them state-wide! Operated and maintained by the Florida Department of Transportation and available for use by any licensed amateur radio operator during non-emergency conditions. In the event of a area or state-wide emergency (hurricane?) the various county EOCs make use of this repeater network for emergency radio traffic. Local Sarasota-Venice area access to the system is via the repeater at 444.800 MHz (+) Tone 100.0 Hz.

AA4FB Wires-X Repeater
Frank, AA4FB from Englewood has offered the use of his WIRES-X repeater on 145.25(-) that is located on the WENG radio station tower on River Rd. in Englewood. It is an open repeater and ya’ll are welcome to use it. The repeater is a Yaesu DR-2X with a 100w PA. The WIRES-X node is RF linked and in my shack a few miles away in Englewood (Charlotte County)…Dell PC, HRI-200 & FTM-400.
KB2WVY Repeater
Located on top of Jacaranda Trace at Jacaranda and 41. Uses a Motorola MSF-5000. The coverage is about 40 miles. Privately owned and operated and open for use by the public…please be courteous and respectful of local repeater use. If you want to use Echo Link you must enter a 0 (zero) first followed by the Echo Link node number.

NI4CE Regional Linked Repeater System
Also known as “Big Stick”, NI4CE is West Central Florida’s regional VHF/UHF Amateur Radio communications connection. NI4CE covers all or parts of twelve different counties and provides seamless coverage along the areas I-75 and I-4 corridors. All sites are linked. Click on the image at lrgy for a better map view.
Access from the greater Venice area is via the repeaters on the Verna, FL “big stick” tower:
