I first got involved in ham radio as an 8th grader in Phoenix in 1966 becoming WN7FLP. Later that year I became WA7FLP and started working 20m SSB.  We moved to Ct. in '67 and I became WA1HSU.

With college, jobs and later family life I was inactive for the next 38 years. Diane and I retired to Venice in 2004 and I returned to ham radio in '07 when a shoe box full of my old QSL cards turned up.

I've enjoyed working on WAS and DXCC over the last year. Through the FCC vanity program I got my WA1HSU call sign back but I recently traded for the shorter call, KY1Z. Most of my operating time is spent trying to work new DX entities. The rig is an FT-1000MP driving an ACOM 1000 amp into a 2 element homemade quad.  Recently I became a Volunteer Examiner.
